Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is one of the best smartphones the company has managed to sale in handsome amount with a record. This is tall, powerful and capable enough to shoot eye-catching images. At the same time, Huawei has impressed the market with a powerful mid-range that do attract beautifully as well, the Mate 10 Lite. These two handsets are top mid-ranger with the similar price tag and you can really get confused when choosing which one is best. Here’s Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro vs Huawei Mate 10 Lite comparison trying to lead you to the easy decision.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro vs Huawei Mate 10 Lite

Design and Display:

The Redmi Note 5 is one of the most sold gadgets in many countries in the market of middle segment smartphones. At first, glance immediately pay attention to the large display Redmi Note 5 Pro, it is an advantage if you like smartphones with wide displays, and, therefore, a drawback, if you prefer compact gadgets. And when it comes to Huawei, there is a similar situation to enjoy. The Huawei Mate 10 Lite comes with a 5.9-inches display and same resolution. Both phones have 5.9-inches displays with Full HD+ resolution, 1080 x 2160 pixels.

The Mate 10 Lite look good, but the front panel is available in black color only which might feel ugly to some people. There are Graphite Black, Prestige Gold, and Aurora Blue color options. But the Redmi Note 5 is available in impressive design with so many color options including Gold and Lake Blue. Overall, the black color of Mate 10 Lite is eye-catching.

Internal Capacity – hardware:

These two handsets are packed with Octa-Core chips that do not get you hanged a lot when using some high-end productivity apps. The Kirin 659 in Mate 10 Lite is impressive, containing eight cores, 4 cores clocked at 2.36 GHz and 4 clocked at 1.7Ghz. The Redmi Note has an 8-core chip clocked at 1.8 GHz. If we talk about the characteristics of the processor on paper, it is definitely more powerful, and, moreover, more energy efficient. The Note 5 Pro has the configuration with 6 GB of RAM and 4GB of RAM. But the Mate 10 Lite is available with only 4GB ROM. However, it does not matter a lot, it is likely for many to be the deciding factor when choosing a gadget from the presented two here. You do not get much difference between performances.

More energy efficient processor looks more interesting and thanks to a more capacious battery than the opponent: 4000 mah vs 3340 Mah. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a clear winner with tons of power and it can easily beat with some more hours of connected life.

Camera:

The next thing I want to talk about is the camera. Xiaomi and Huawei offer really good cameras on their smartphones, not only on flagships but also with the budget.

There is no particularly noticeable difference between the dual cameras of these smartphones. They both photograph well enough but do not reach the level of the flagships, which, in general, they do not expect. But if it is a front-camera, then without any doubt can be called Redmi Note 5 Pro clear leader. Its 20 MP camera with LED Flash should hit any image. The Mate 10 Lite has a dual camera on the front, one 13MP + 2MP setup that is impressive to use. But Redmi Note 5 can feel a leader here with tons of details.

Huawei Mate 10 Lite comes with four cameras: Dual front and dual rear. On the back panel, you can find a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel additional sensor. One has aperture f/2.2. As for the front camera, there is a 13-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel extra. Frankly, I don’t believe that a 2-megapixel sensor on the back and front panels will allow you to do much better photos. The manufacturer says they are necessary for images with bokeh effect. As for the Redmi Note 5 Pro, it is equipped with a 12-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel optional sensor on the back panel. They have f/2.2 and F/2.0 aperture respectively. In addition, the Best Smartphones have a 20-megapixel front camera. That sounds very interesting.

It is very difficult to choose a winner because both phones are impressive on rear cameras. But you can feel Redmi Note 5 Pro a winner because of highly detailed images and impressive light.

Verdict:

I would prefer Redmi Note 5 for the following reasons:

  • Beautiful color options
  • Powerful cameras
  • Long lasting battery

I would prefer Mate 10 Lite for the following reasons:

  • Tall & Lightweight
  • Faster
  • Powerful Cameras
